Reminiscing About Hawaii

February 26, 2009

I was just scanning through my iPhoto library and I found this picture from our trip to Hawaii in 2006.  I wish there was a way I could be transported to this exact spot just for 15 minutes…how relaxing would that be?

This is actually the beach where Jess and I spent countless hours picking up pieces of sea glass from the sand; all of which we brought home with us and half of which is now in a jar in my bathroom.

I want to go back….like, now.

Is Summer Here Yet?

February 20, 2009

Yesterday the temperature outside reached 84 degrees; does that mean summer is just around the corner? It’s hard to believe that it’s only February and I’m already making a habit of wearing flip flops to class. Before you know it there will be wafts of sunscreen and tanning/reading sessions by the pool…I can’t wait. I love summer. Maybe it’s just because I tan relatively easily and enjoy healthy doses of vitamin D (sorry Mark, but I hope our kids get my skin genes and not your white/sunburn-prone ones). However, chances are the Texas weather Gods will change their mind and make it snow on Easter again. But for now, while the sun is still shining, I’ll be listening to my summertime playlist and imagining myself laying on a beach.

Here are a few of the essential summertime songs on my playlist, enjoy!

Groove is in the Heart: Dee Lite

Broadway: Goo Goo Dolls

The Sweet Escape: Gwen Stefani

State Your Peace: Hootie & The Blowfish

How Far is Heaven: Los Lonely Boys

Float On: Modest Mouse

FNT: Semisonic

All I Wanna Do: Sheryl Crow

Swan Dive: Sister Hazel

Umbrella Today?

February 9, 2009

It’s raining outside for the first time this year!  I love how rainfall cleans the air, it’s so refreshing.
