Tonight will be the last time that I will ever pull an all-nighter in studio as an undergraduate student.
It’s a refreshing yet sad fact because I absolutely hate them, but at the same time love them. The majority of my studio will most likely be here for the entirety of the night as well which is what makes all-nighters so much fun. It’s at about 2:30 in the morning when the true studio culture begins to come alive; we get our second wind of energy, blare music, and find ways to distract ourselves from the fact that we are operating at about 30% efficiency. But somehow we always manage to pull everything together at the last possible moment. Then of course it takes about 24 hours for our stress, sugar and caffeine levels to return to normal as we attempt to sleep off what I am coining a “studio hangover,” resulting from being up way too long, sitting in chairs with zero lumbar support and staring at a computer screen for hours upon end.
It’s gonna be a party…guacamole included.
